KNOWLEDGE, CRAFT & ELEGANCE

The principals of Regeneration Tiles, Frieda Wachsmann and Greg Woodward have over 80 years’ experience in the building and property industries.

Frieda Wachsmann began her fascination with Victorian houses when as a young student she moved from the leafy eastern suburbs of Melbourne to a shared house in North Fitzroy. Since then she has lived in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, and currently resides in Kensington. She has restored several Victorian houses over the years, each one presenting its own unique challenges. Her goal is to maintain the authenticity and integrity of the houses, while ensuring they are comfortable, modern spaces adapted for today’s living.

Greg Woodward did his apprenticeship as a carpenter and joiner. Some of this time was spent in heritage restoration at Duntroon Military Academy in Canberra. He values the integrity and aesthetic qualities of all buildings, from Victorian through to Edwardian, and Art Deco. He ensures that all Regeneration Tiles work is of a standard that compliments each era.

Frieda and Greg are supported by their team  of qualified tilers, and  apprentices, as well as support staff at our factory, and our hounds, Angie, Bella and Scout. Regeneration Tiles is a collaborative workspace, committed to supporting women in trades.

My husband and I have a lovely Victorian home which we have lived in for over 30 years. It was in need of some love and attention to draw out the beauty of our home. As part of the renovations we decided to replace the tessellated tiles on the front veranda and add a tessellated path from the gate to the front door. Greg and his staff came out removed the old tiles from our verandah in Kew. While the builder rebuilt the slab for under the tiles, the team at Regeneration cleaned the tiles. Regeneration returned and laid the tiles, they look like new saving me thousands of dollars. The staff were prompt and easy to work with. I would highly recommend the team at Regeneration to anyone looking to do restoration work or newer tile work.
